Dan Künzler

Abandoned land, architectural garbage, hiding places and forgotten buildings – I consider these places to be the “inside pockets” of a city. Untapped places, which I need to explore and equip it with my own ideas to free myself of cultural codes and stereotype. Unknown places that have become more alien to us due to endless restructuring and planning. I am particularly interested in the atmosphere of such places and consider myself a temporary refugee from civilization - especially then these places become attractive and valuable for me. Borders are used to exclude people, identities or ideas - but in most cases one has it in its own hands if one is "inside" or "outside". With a little skill, a healthy level of audacity and curiosity, one slips from "inside" to "outside" or the other way around. The more you look, the more you will find.
