He is a visual artist and lives and works in Medellin, Colombia. Ortiz studied Fine Arts at the New York Academy of Art. In 2013 he created and produced The Timebag Project. During a self-residency exercise on the abandoned railway workshops of El Ferrocarril de Antioquia, Ortiz explorations on different media, based on his reflections of the contemporary society, led to his development of social and political concepts using installations created from common materials, objects, abandoned spaces and deteriorating systems such as oxidation. Ortiz site-specific art installations have been reviewed by diverse international publications, including the New York-based digital publication Art Report and have been exhibited in projects in Colombia and the US. His illustration artwork has been awarded at international events in countries such as Portugal, Mexico, Brazil and Colombia.
