Tiempos Nuevos Teatro from San Antonio Los Ranchos, El Salvador, is touring Germany between May 25 and July 27, 2016 on invitation by KinderKulturKarawane.

TNT was founded in 1993 in El Salvador, shortly after the armed conflict ended. The first members were influenced by the tradition of Educación Popular and were mainly active in the rural areas of Chalatenango. Especially because the youth of these communities are known for their violence, with little access to education, culture or work opportunities.

This is where TNT takes action and playfully offers new perspectives to the youngsters via art. “Access to culture is a basic right, and learning how to express oneself creatively and artfully is a crucial element in the emotional and holistic development of children and youth,” is what lies at heart of the organization's mission.

Participating in a tour with KinderKulturKarawane is a unique experience and opportunity for the TNT youth, allowing them to widen their horizons and participate in a cultural exchange with the youth in Europe.

Seven young artists will be playing The colour of pain, stories about fleeing from poverty, hunger, environmental damage and war – and about the search for a better life.

Since 1999, KinderKulturKarawane has been inviting youth culture projects from the Global South every year to tour in Europe and to present their theatre, dance, music or circus performances, inspiring their (mainly young) audiences.
