“My work brings together soccer and art onto one platform. Growing up in Uganda, the art of making football is one of the strongest memories to date. We all made our own footballs using available materials. The kids from the urban areas made footballs from plastic bags and rubber bands while those from the rural villages made footballs from organic materials, particularly banana fibers.

All these footballs were different; the ones made from plastic bags and rubber bands were filled with pressure while those made from organic materials were often stuffed, making them heavier. But they all had one thing in common: a sense of identity and unification.”
