Sebastian Kwasi Asiedu has never been to Ghana. Nevertheless, he was in many other places, e.g. on a pirate ship in the Caribbean or on a portable toilet in South Africa. He was born in 1983 at what is nowadays known as Hamburg‘s Art and Media Campus, where his creative spirit was put into his cradle. Kind of. In the end, he chose not to study but to photograph and assist for plenty of semesters. When he’s not on the move for a photo production, he is living his passion for portraits and subjects of the human species, realizing collaborations from nude to public and recently creating objects of desire. How charming, surprising or misleading the results of his split creative work are, was recently shown in his first solo exhibition at Raum linksrechts. And now also in the Millerntor toilets.
