Sebastian Bieniek was born in 1975 in Poland and moved to Braunschweig in 1997 to study art under the performance artist Marina Abramovic. His best-known artworks are radical performances and conceptual paintings, which often have humorous and ambivalent messages, and his so-called "Double-faced" photographs also illustrate humor, ambivalence and illusion.
In 2015, "The Culture Trip Magazine" selected Sebastian Bieniek as one of the "Top 5 Influential Contemporary Berlin-Based Artists". Bieniek’s work has recently been exhibited in Views (Arts Society Bahrain - Kingdom of Bahrain), The Imitation of the Imitation (Potemka Gallery - Leipzig/ GER) and The Melancholy of Elephant (Fotogalerie Friedrichshain - Berlin/ GER).
