Jan Koke

The Hamburg born artist came in contact with graffiti and lettering for the first time in 1994. In 2006 he started an education as a layouter, typesetter and printer. That was the time he learned about typography, taught by his master, an old school typesetter. After that he studied communications design in Hamburg to expand his knowledge about the anatomy of letters. In his studies he designed fonts, logotypes and began to improve his calligraphy skills and calligraffiti styles. Out of these different influences, from all kinds of letters he creates something new, by mixing styles, tools and philosophies.
