Patrick Slepica, autodidact, has been working with metropolitan waste for three years. After several years in Hamburg (St. Pauli) the artist, born in Karlsruhe in 1973, has his studio at the gates of Berlin. He extracts his current source material from hundredfold over-sprayed walls in Berlin. Sculptures, décollages and reliefs develop in different work processes. His technique, as well as the material itself, he describes as "Dégraffiti". For much of his work, Slepica devotes himself to the transition from a two-dimensional image (plane) to a three-dimensional form (space). Within them, the layers of color carry their silent, fused history. Peeled out and processed, they represent fantasy, future, vision.
