Sebastian Unterrainer (born in 1983 in Trier) has been living and working in Hamburg since eight years now. His series of works titled "Visitors", which he started in 2017, with its large-scale canvases is dedicated to the current refugee phenomenon. His depicted characters remain silhouette-like and abstract, they neither appear to be threatening or frightening nor friendly or familial. Rather the viewers can interpret freely and put themselves into this situation on their own. In the end, it is totally in their own hands to which conclusion they come.
