Danny Figueroa was born in 1980 in Chiclayo/Peru and grew up in the capital Lima where he has been active as a graffiti artist since 1996 under the pseudonym WESR. His growing up was strongly affected by the cultural clash which the ethnic traditions of his country were being confronted with the upcoming Americanization which made him learn how to deal with an overdose of the combination of different styles. This is also reflected in his art, in which he brings together the aesthetics of traditional and contemporary japanese graphic illustrations with elements of Peruvian indigenous art. Hence his creative work is a perfect compromise between tradition and modernity.

His oeuvre ranges between muralism, painting and illustration."
